The Boat

S.V. Gaia is a 44' steel hull cutter, Bruce Roberts design, constructed in 1990 by Custom Steel Boats out of North Carolina.  David opted for a steel hull for safety purposes, balancing her higher maintenance demands over the increased stability and strength of the shell, especially important when exploring outside the comforts of equatorial latitudes.  With a spacious two-cabin design and centre-cockpit layout, Gaia is a comfortable cruiser, well-outfitted with cherrywood flooring and all the comforts of home.
